So there we go, you plan or just have bought you Kamado, and you want to know what accessories could make your Kamado experience better and easier.

We have put together this list of  these 5 accessories which we believe every Kamado grill owner should own, or think about owning, as well as a short segment explaining the item and the logic behind it.

1) The Kamado Divide and Conquer system
The Divide & Conquer System is a revolutionary multi-level, half rack design that allows you to cook in multiple heat zones and on multiple cooking surfaces at once, effectively giving you twice the cooking space. Use the included heat deflectors to configure for direct or indirect cooking on each of the stainless-steel half grills. Optional additional cooking surfaces are also available for purchase, giving you even more cooking versatility.
As you can see in the photo the divide and conquer system is very innovative in its design in providing different heat zone. By utilizing the Half-moon heat deflector stones, you can easily transform your Kamado grill for indirect and direct cooking zone inside your Kamado. The Direct cooking zone provides you the heat and open flames. As for the indirect zone, it provides you the heat without the direct flame, which is excellent for grilling chicken, baking, etc.
Different foods in different styles at different temperatures all at the same time. You’ll end up with a perfect, well-rounded meal without ever leaving the grill!
The versatility of the Divide and Conquer was designed to expand your cooking space inside your BBQ. Which allows you to cook vegetables, meats or deserts at the same time. It accomplishes this by allowing you to grill direct on one side and indirect on the other side. Its design also allows you to use various level of cooking surface, which comes handy when you need to grill for a larger crowed. You can even easily control the indirect heat or direct heat by placing the racks or heat deflectors at different levels which is pretty convenient.

From what we can see so far about this system and from what we have been told by many users. This is definitely the most versatile accessories out there for a ceramic grill. It can accommodate up to three separate cooking surfaces dramatically increasing your total cooking area. The Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking System works with many of Kamado custom cooking surfaces like the cast iron cooking grate, cast iron reversible griddle, heat deflector, and many more. Which makes it possible to cook almost anything with the Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking Rack which is pretty amazing.
Last but not least, with the (included) Flexible Cooking Rack’s design makes it pretty convenient for using a wok you can place it close to the fire or away from the fire. There’s so many uses for this accessory rack such as holding the split heat deflector, holding a drip pan, holding a cast iron Dutch oven, small cast iron grate for searing steaks close to the coals, pizza stone holder, etc., and the possibilities are endless!

2) The Pizza stone
It always pays to remember that a Kamado grill can be used for more than just grilling. No matter the trappings you’ve come to associate with a grill, the fact is: it’s still a tightly enclosed space with a lot of heat, much like some home appliances you’re familiar with.

The Kamado grill can be similar to many or all of the functions that any other cooking appliance can do, in this case an oven. A pizza oven, to be more precise.
All grills can do this, but kamado grills do it especially well. All you really need to do to turn your kamado grill into a pizza cooking oven. You can get yourself a suitably sized pizza stone and get to work!

This particular pizza stone by Cast Elegance is a great example of what to look for. It’s satisfyingly thick, with a good size (choice of 16”, 18”, 21” rounds, depending on the size of your kamado grill and they are made of very solid Thermarite, a variant of the standard cordierite material which most pizza stones are made of except that it comes with an extra heat tempering to make it resistant to heat shock.

It’s very difficult to find better than this simple but effective pizza stone, and we’d only recommend against getting it, if your kamado grill doesn’t fit either of these sizes for whatever reason.

3) The Rotisserie Kit
If you have a grill, it’s always good to have a rotisserie to go with it. Unfortunately, that’s kind of difficult with kamado grills, as their unusual shape means that normal rotisseries don’t tend to work with them.
This rotisserie is pretty good as it is a specialized kamado grill design and is available for Kamado’s of 21″ and up. It can turn up to a whopping 18Kg. of meat on its wide 304 stainless steel rotisserie spit. The tines are good, thick, and well-spaced, great for gripping those heavier meats, like pork roasts and large turkeys. The ring around the edge gives you a very tight seal around the lid, keeping the heat and smoke inside the grill quite well. Despite the thick and sturdy construction, it’s cast aluminum material keeps it lightweight and easy to put in and take out.

4) The Halfmoon Cast Iron Grill
Why not use your Kamado grill as a griddle?
Having a griddle pan for your grill is an astounding upgrade to its versatility that you might not think about initially. Adding a griddle to it like this is the difference between a grill being your favorite cooking tool and being your ONLY cooking tool. By adding this great accessory on your grill, it will open a world of possibilities, foods that were otherwise tedious become a breeze. Eggs? Flaky fish? Pancakes? The sky’s the limit.
This particular style of griddle pan is super great for a few reasons. First is the reversible nature making it even more versatile overall, the ridges giving you a nice place to sear things and give them those grill marks without losing any juices, and the flat side being perfect for most other things.
But the half-moon design is the big kicker here. Since it only takes up half your grill surface, you can mix and match what you do at any given time. Grill a steak on one side, sautéing vegetables and even grilling sandwiches and paninis. The Half-moon Cast Iron Griddle is also perfect for cooking your breakfast favorites … use the flat side for pancakes and eggs, the ridged side for sausage and bacon. Authentic, high temperature “steak house” grilling is quick, easy and delicious!

5) Kamado Rain cover
Making sure your Kamado grill is covered is important to keep it protected from the elements, a kamado grill’s ceramic construction is no exception to that, being weathered by the elements just as much, if in different ways, as a steel grill.
You might think one grill cover is as good as another, and in some ways you’re not wrong. Pretty much any cover will do the job if it’s big enough…for a time.
It will keep Mother Nature out, but make sure to have a Full-length cover, made out of Waterproof Oxford Fabric
The 100 percent Oxford fabric guarantees it won’t fade from harmful day-to-day sun coverage or rain.
